Are you moving to the Netherlands from a country that is no member of the European Union (EU)? If so, you do need to file an import declaration with Customs.
Please note
You often also need to arrange a number of things in the country of departure for exporting your household effects. For this reason, check in good time with the authorities in the country of departure or with your removal company.
Applying for an exemption
In general, you are allowed to import your removal goods or personal effects into the Netherlands without paying tax. However, you must apply for an exemption to do so.
