How do I pay?

There are several ways you can pay the Customs Administration of The Netherlands.

Online banking

You can transfer the amount to the bank account number stated in our letter. Customs owns two account numbers:

• NL42 INGB 0000 0649 33
• NL04 INGB 0000 3615 64

Always include the requested reference or number in your payment. This can be:

• the payment reference (copy this from the payment information)
• the claim number

Copy the payment reference exactly as it appears, without any dots or slashes. Enter the reference in the 'description' field and check it carefully. Without this reference, we cannot see which tax assessment your payment belongs to. In such cases, we usually use the money to pay your oldest open assessment.

Offsetting

Do you still owe us money and do we also need to pay you? Then we can balance these amounts against each other. This is called offsetting. Businesses can also use this option.

Transfer form

If you prefer not to use online banking, you can pay with a transfer form. Your bank will then transfer the money to our account. Please keep your bank's processing time in mind and pay on time. You can order a transfer form from your bank.

Wrong payment reference

If you entered an incorrect reference, or forgot to include one, please send an e-mail to: douane.nederland.invordering@douane.nl.

• Always include your citizen service number (BSN) in your e-mail, so we can help you more quickly
• If you are a business owner, please include your RSIN or tax number instead

Notification of Payment Term Expiry

If you make customs declarations, you will no longer receive a Summary of Submitted Declarations (OGA). This makes it more difficult to check for differences between our records and yours. To resolve this issue, you will instead receive a monthly specification together with the Notification of Payment Term Expiry (MAB).

The specification shows the following transaction:

• dutiable declarations
• invalidated declarations
• payments charged to the guarantee

You will receive this overview by e-mail. The e-mail also explains how to open the attachments and where you can ask questions.
