The European Union is changing the rules for importing e-commerce goods. Below are the most important changes in the coming years.

Exemption from import duties ends
- Declarants must pay import duties on e-commerce goods with a value of up to € 150
- Import duties: € 3 per declaration line (product type)
1 Nov
Mandatory product identification
Declarants must include the product identification of e-commerce goods in their customs declaration.
Expected on 1 November

Right to secure IOSS (Import One-Stop Shop)
- Declarants must include a unique dispatch number in their import declaration
- Effective date to be announced

Common customs duties replace the € 3 import fee
- No more exceptions for e-commerce: you will pay the same import duties as for other goods
- Duty rate: common customs tariff (EU Customs Tariff)

Customs Data Hub becomes mandatory for e-commerce
Companies must submit customs data via a European digital platform: the EU Customs Data Hub.
