Radioactive substances and nuclear materials

The import, export and transport of radioactive substances and nuclear materials are subject to strict rules. Customs monitors whether imports, exports and transports are in compliance with those rules.

This primarily concerns monitoring for the licences for import, export or transit as issued by the Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS).

If the required licences are lacking, the transport will immediately be stopped and the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment will be notified.
