Passports and travel advices

Dutch Customs only checks goods. Passport and identity card checks, visa checks and other checks of persons at national borders are conducted in the Netherlands by the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee.

If you have any questions about travel documents and border controls for persons, you should check de website van het Ministerie van Defensie, onderdeel Koninklijke Marechaussee (the website of the Ministry of Defence, Royal Netherlands Marechaussee – only available in Dutch).

If you have any questions about a residence permit, you should contact the Immigration and Naturalisation Service of the Ministry of Security and Justice.
