DECO users will need eHerkenning, starting 5 August

Companies that use the DECO declaration system for e-commerce goods will receive a monthly invoice for customs duties starting August 5th. You can view this invoice by logging in to Mijn Douane with eHerkenning.

Does your company use DECO? Then apply for eHerkenning in time if you do not have it yet. An application can take several days.

Security level EH3 or higher

In order to receive the Notice of Expiry of Payment Term, you need an eHerkenning account with at least level EH3. This is a personal account.

Also make sure you are authorised for the right service. In the eHerkenning service catalogue, this service is called: “Mijn Douane Mededeling afloop betalingstermijn”.

Customs duty exemption discontinued

The monthly invoice for customs duties is new for DECO users. Until now, parcels worth up to €150 were exempt from customs duties. The EU is abolishing this exemption for low-value consignments. From 1 July, companies must therefore pay customs duties on these e-commerce goods.

Do you use the DMS declaration system? For now, you will still receive your monthly invoice by email. Starting 6 July , your invoice will be available in Mijn Douane for the first time. This applies to both the Notice of Expiry of Payment Term and the specification in XML.
