  1. DECO users will need eHerkenning, starting 5 August

    Companies that use the DECO declaration system for e-commerce goods will receive a monthly invoice for customs duties starting August 5th. You can view this invoice by logging in to Mijn Douane with eHerkenning.

    The requirement to lodge a Temporary Storage Declaration (ATO) for Union goods ends for those who hold an authorisation to maintain a Regular Shipping Service (RSS).

  3. Implementation of EMCS phase 4.2 on 12 February 2026

    Dutch Customs will roll out phase 4.2 of the Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) in all EU member states on 12 February 2026.

  4. Confirmation effective date of maritime Declaration for Temporary Storage (ATO)

    By 1 October 2026, you must submit your declaration for temporary storage (ATO) via the Single Window for maritime and air transport (SW) using new system specifications.

  5. Automated Export System (AES) changes on 15 December

    The Automated Export System (AES) will change on 15 December 2025 at 12:00 am (midnight). This happens because the European Union (EU) will move from the AES Transition Period to the AES Post-Transition Period.

  6. From 1 December 2025, you will only be able to make ENS declarations via ICS2

    From 1 December 2025, you will no longer be able to submit Entry Summary Declarations (ENS) via ICS1 (DMF). This will only be possible via ICS2.
